Dell UltraSharp 22" Monitors are Awful
Our company recently purchased a load of new Dell PC's. We bought these with Dell UltraSharp 22" Widescreen monitors. These are the slighly more expensive model 2208WFP. Basically, these are the worst monitors I have EVER used (working in IT, I see a lot of monitors). Firstly, there is nothing UltraSharp about them. They have the same resolution as the cheaper model, and if anything are less sharp. If you look straight on, it's not too bad. However, if you move your head to the left or right side (while still looking straight at it), half the monitor will turn green. If you look down on it from anything more than a 5 degree angle, the whole thing gets a green tinge. If you look at it from a side angle (we are talking 20 degrees or more either side), the whole screen gets a bright pink tinge. We bought 11 of these monitors, and all 5 we've tested so far are exactly the same. We also purchased one of these monitors a couple of months ago, and only just realised that it has the same problems - This is not just a bad batch. Stay well clear of the Dell 2208WPF. Purchase the cheaper E228WFP instead - It suffers from NONE of the above problems and is perfectly good quality. The problem then is you get a cheap (non adjustable) stand and no USB support built in to the monitor. I'll be sticking to other brands from now on. |
